So, here are the highlights for your enjoyment:
Our royal guests, fairy princess and elf kings alike, arrived and followed the signs to our backyard Fairytopia. They entered the gate under a canopy of flowers and greenery that the Royal Fairy Queen Mother (aka Grammie) had rigged and were met with a shower of bubbles from the bubble machine.
Next, they were directed to the royal craft tables where they were able to decorate their own crowns/tiaras and sprinkle some magic fairy dust on their wands.

Once all the guests had arrived and had their wardrobes in place we headed to the Woodland Fairy Hideaway for Fairy Portraits. The Hideaway was also designed and constructed by the Royal Fairy Queen Mother.

During the Royal Portraits, a fairy happened to be flying over the yard. She was so distracted by the beauty she saw below, that she wasn’t watching where she was going and she ran into the side of the house. In the process she dropped the entire load of goodies she had been carrying, and she told fairies and elves that if they helped clean it all up, they could keep whatever they found. The loot included Fairy Wands (Dum-dums), Elf Rocks (Salt water taffy), Precious Fairy Gems (Jelly Beans) and Elf Coins (Chocolate coins).

That same clumsy fairy who hit the house also broke her wand in the process, so she asked the fairies and elves to help her fix it. To prove their wand skills, however, they had to do it blindfolded!

For a final test before they were officially dubbed fairy princesses and elf kings, the young ones had to prove themselves on the elf obstacle course:

For lunch, they were treated to star-shaped PB & J’s, star-shaped Jell-O, Fairy Wands (pretzels dipped in frosting with sprinkles), Fairy Fruit Kabobs, Tink Links (Hot Dogs wrapped in biscuit dough), and Elf Grog (green punch).

After lunch, they all set out to slay Nick the Giant Ogre, and had fun chasing and being chased around the yard. It was most fun to see them all pile into the Fairy Woodland Hideaway and then file back out again like clowns from a clown car.
And then – it was time for presents…followed by cake. My pride and joy – 5 hours of hard work, destroyed with a single cut. But alas, it was meant to be. Luckily we snapped a few shots before the fateful moment.

The guests departed with their favor bags filled with what else? Pixie sticks! Because we were pretty sure they hadn’t had enough sugar for the day and their parents would thank us for it later.
So, that’s the basic wrap-up. The complete photo album (with LOTS of pictures) can be viewed at: Mylie’s Third Birthday Album.
Oh, but let’s not forget the little man who won the award for best elf of the day (not to mention the fact that he was INCREDIBLY patient and played contently in the exersaucer for almost two hours during the festivities). I give you, the Crown Prince Elf Nolan (and his lady in waiting)!

Wow, that looks like one majestic party! How creative and fun!! I love the wardrobes and cute activities!! Looks like everyone had a splendid time including little Nolan. Mylie is one lucky little fairy Princess. Happy Birthday Mylie!
